Once palletised, even something as heavy as stone can be easily transported by the national transportation system, as it then conforms to all the transportation standards. This means that not only do we benefit from the added speed of delivery and the lower costs associated with the standardisation, but we also gain things such as insurance coverage and lot tracking. Finally, convenience is greatly enhanced - always a welcome side-effect !
